The purpose of Statistical Areas Level 2 (SA2) are to represent a community that interacts together socially and economically. The Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) is constructed on the principle that it must fulfil user needs for geospatially enabled statistics while, also conforming to general classification principles.
